ICT
About the ICT program:
The Information and Communication Technology course at Hamilton SHS is one of only three courses of its kind accredited by the WA Department of Education.
Students who are accepted into the course in Year 8 will be able to access and explore a diverse range of career pathways and access direct links to ‘industry standard’ courses. Special arrangements with Murdoch University, Challenger TAFE and CDM Australia will give students priority access to ongoing links at these institutions and will enhance ability to gain entry into tertiary institutions after Year 12 completion of the course.
Selection process:
Selection to the ICT program is based on a number of processes and criteria. Students will participate in a testing day at Hamilton, where they will have an opportunity to display their ICT skills, level of interest and aptitude, as well as providing them with an opportunity to interact with other potential ICT students.
Selection criteria:
Selection for the ICT course is based on the following 5-step process:
- A written application
- Literacy test
- Numeracy test
- A practical ICT task
- Panel Selection
Candidates will be ranked by a panel of Hamilton staff through an allocation of 1-5 points for each of the four tasks.
