Hamilton is a pioneer in the School Chaplaincy Program. Since the beginning of 1985 the school has employed a non-denominational Chaplain; this is a joint venture between the school, the Churches Commission of Education and the Federal Government.
The School Chaplain works full time and provides pastoral care activities, along with relationship and spiritual advice for students, staff and parents in times of need.

As a member of the Student Services Team, the Chaplain reinforces and supports the role of other staff by being available to counsel students dealing with problems. The Chaplain encourages those associated with the school to explore important issues relating to the meaning and purpose of life, from a Christian perspective.
Engagement in the Chaplaincy program is totally voluntary.
The Chaplain coordinates the School Breakfast Club – Big Mammaz Breakfast, every Thursday morning before school and is an Instructor for the school’s Emergency Services Cadet Unit.
The Chaplain works with students on such community ventures as the 40 Hour Famine and Red Shield Appeal. She is also a key driver in the Young Carers Program.
Any questions or feedback regarding the Chaplaincy, its operations or funding, may be directed to the school email address Hamilton.SHS@education.wa.edu.au
